If you like the tranquillity of the Broads, the 'Trinity Broads' (Filby, Ormesby, Rollesby) are around 10 mins away by car where you can hire a boat, watch the abundant wildlife, find a riverside walk or just relax with a drink by the water. See our page on The Broads and boat hire.

Photography

The Broads are great for nature photographers too, especially birds and insects, and you are almost guaranteed some great shots of seals if you pitch up to Horsey beach when the seals are on the beach in large numbers.

Golfing

If golf is your thing, the cottage is next door to the Caister golf course which calls itself "the home of Bogey Golf". Caldecott Hall is also nearby, just the other side of Great Yarmouth, as is Gorleston club.

Racing

If you want something a bit different on holiday, just down the road Great Yamouth stadium has both stock car and greyhound racing, and there's also horse racing right on your door step too.
